Minibus Sales - 'Limited' sales go through the roof
Posted On 28/01/2008 by Miles Marshall
Filed Under: Buying a Used Van

With the new legislation on minibuses having to be fitted with Speed Limiters coming in to force on 1st January 2008 - limiting a minibus' top speed to 100kph or 62.5mph in old money, LDV's used minibus sales for both their used Convoy 17 Seat Minibus and the used MAXUS 15 Seat Minibus have been far from limited.

The LDV Dealer network have been beating down the factory gates to satisfy the increased demand from all over the UK, as Minibus operators, schools and colleges have to take their illegal unlimited Minibuses off the road and replace them with legally compliant MAXUS and Convoy Minibuses.

LDV and its used minibus website 1000 Vans have a wide choice of used LDV Convoy Minibuses from 2005 onwards and the first of the MAXUS 15 seater Minibus on 56 plates up to current 57 plates with a range of engines, colours and accessories.

LDV also offer the used MAXUS Minibus with School livery fitted in dayglow.

Thinking of buying a new minibus for your school or club or just replacing your old workhorse for a newer model minibus. With the new minibus regulations kicking in on January 1st 2008 does your current model conform? ...speed limiting, tachographs, seat belts? If you are looking for a new model MAXUS 15 seat Minibus with just 5000 or 6000 miles and have a healthy budget of around £13,000 plus VAT (If applicable) then visit www.1000vans.com to view some outstanding low mileage used MAXUS minibuses.

If your coffers and fund raising don't match that figure then we can offer minibuses from just £5,995 so just like the Albert Hall "seats for all prices", but unlike the Albert Hall our Minibuses don't have restricted views and have 3 point lap and diagonal seat belts to keep you safe when things get exciting. So if you are looking to carry precious goods without the pomp and circumstance in a safe and enjoyable environment then a used MAXUS minibus is just the ticket. Buy a used LDV MAXUS minibus from the minibus market leader - LDV.

Comparing used MAXUS, Mercedes and Ford Transit vans

Filed Under: Buying a Used Van
The vast majority of us that are searching for a used van are looking for a dependable workhorse that will be totally reliable and comfortable as we are likely to be spending many hours driving up and down the country in our van. So spend a little extra time in considering all of your options for your next used van.

So what's available in the compact /short wheel base used van market today? There are used vans from every manufacturer but which compact / short wheel base used vans are the best? A used Ford Transit is an obvious choice or even a Merc Vito van but why pay for the badge? They only earn the same day's pay! If you are looking for a great value used van then have a look at a used MAXUS van - it has the highest spec on the market today with electric windows, mirrors and a CD player as standard. It's also a no nonsense van which is affordable to buy and even more affordable to service.

A used MAXUS van gives you everything that a Ford Transit or Merc van does and more. Size matters and the MAXUS is larger than its competition. The MAXUS 2.8t SWB LR van's cargo area is longer, wider and higher than the Ford Transit 2.8t SWB LR van and also the Mercedes Vito 2.8t Compact van. The MAXUS is also cheaper to run. Fleet Van recently published a cost of ownership study that showed the lower cost of ownership of MAXUS vs. other vans including Ford Transit, Iveco Daily and Mercedes Benz Sprinter vans.

Check out the full details within our Interact section. Check out www.1000vans.com for the widest selection of used vans in the UK. Will be back next week on large used vans.

Fish for Used Vans

Filed Under: Buying a Used Van

Hello everyone. Welcome to one of many used van blogs to help with buying a used van. Miles Used Van Tip of the day - Don't get caught by over educated salespeople or expensive ad agency speak, using words that estate agents only dream of, in trying to over embellish (look I'm at it) what is basically just a used van, probably white, with an engine, and, if you are lucky, a juke box in the dash!

Important first thoughts on buying a used van: Do you want or need it? Do you like it? Is the van for sale from a reputable source? (no railway line over your head!) then it will probably be ok, but use what you have to make sure.

Get it checked out mechanically, brother-in-law, grease monkey sister or a professional body. Is there a used van warranty? Who is underwriting the warranty? Any service history? Is the van clear of any finance? Damage? or other owners! All easy to check. Don't be seduced by, "One careful lady owner" (but 300 drivers); "Never raced or rallied", driven locally (daily fresh fish round). An old Grimsby Fish trader once told me his secret recipe to get rid of the stench of fish from your van. Scrub it out with "custard powder and vinegar"in equal quantities and leave for 24 hours before washing out. Sounds like a great Mrs Beeton cure for all, and, I am sure you all believe it!!!

Have a look through the wide range of used vans on www.1000vans.com as all the used vans come with:

  • Multi-point check before delivery by LDV trained technicians
  • Full service to Vanguard Standards
  • 12 month MOT
  • HPI Certificate to verify previous ownership and history
  • Independent vehicle mileage certificate based on DVLA data
  • 30 day exchange plan
  • Balance of the manufacturer's warranty

Until next time, what was, was, what is, is and what will be is up to you!

As a used van sales manager for the past umpteen years, I keep on being asked (apart from how I keep my devilish handsome good looks and svelte figure) about buying used vans so I thought I would start a used van blog. The blog will contain insight and guidance about buying a used van or minibus with hopefully input from other used van experts / questions from people about to buy a used van and anyone else that wants to join in the conversation.

So feel free to add your comments and let's have a conversation about used vans - how to buy vans, where to buy vans and which van to buy. So keep checking in to see what the latest news / gossip is on used vans.
